How can we help?
Step-by-step answers for using Zooky. Signed in? Ask Zooky answers these too, in the chat.
Your account
Change your name
- Open Settings, then Account.
- Under Profile, change your name and save.
Change your password
- Open Settings, then Sign-in & security.
- Under Password, enter your current password, then your new one twice. It needs at least 10 characters.
- Choose Change password. Your other devices are logged out.
Turn on two-step verification
- Open Settings, then Sign-in & security. Choose Turn on two-step verification and enter your password.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator), then enter the 6-digit code it shows.
- Save your 10 backup codes: download or print them. Each one logs you in once if you can't use your phone.
- When you log in on a new device, you'll enter a code after your password. Tick Trust this device to skip it there for 30 days. Forget trusted devices in Settings stops that on every device.
- Settings shows how many backup codes you have left. Make new ones when you're down to a few.
- To turn it off, choose Turn off and enter your password and a code. Lost your phone and your codes? Email [email protected] from your account's address.
Log in with Google
- New to Zooky? On the join page, tick the box, then choose Join with Google.
- Already have an account? Log in with your password, then open Settings, then Sign-in & security. Under Sign-in methods, choose Connect Google. It has to be the Google account for the same email.
- After that, choose Continue with Google on the log in page.
- To stop, choose Disconnect under Sign-in methods. Joined with Google? Set a password there first.
Log in with a passkey
- Open Settings, then Sign-in & security. Choose Add a passkey, name it, and follow your device's prompt.
- Next time, choose Log in with a passkey on the log in page and unlock with Face ID, a fingerprint or your screen lock. A password manager that keeps passkeys offers it as soon as you tap the email field.
- Lost the device? Remove its passkey in Settings, and log in with your password.
See where you're signed in
- Open Settings, then Sign-in & security. Signed-in devices lists each browser and app.
- Choose Sign out beside one you don't recognise, or Log out everywhere.
Forgot your password
- On the log in page, choose Forgot password?.
- Enter your email. Zooky emails you a link to set a new password. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive in a few minutes.
Change your email
- You can't change the email you sign in with from Zooky yet.
- Ask the team through Give feedback and they'll change it for you.
Log out, or log out everywhere
- To log out on this device, choose Log out at the bottom of the menu (on a phone, open the menu at the top right).
- Lost a phone, or signed in on a shared computer? Open Settings, then Sign-in & security, and choose Log out everywhere.
Delete your account
- Open Settings, then App and data, and find Delete account.
- Enter your password, type DELETE, then choose Delete account.
- Your account and everything in it leave Zooky straight away. Zooky keeps a private copy for 90 days for support and safety, then erases it. It can't be undone.
- Want a copy first? Choose Download my data under Your data before you delete.
Download your data
- Open Settings, then App and data.
- Under Your data, choose Download my data. You get one file with your profile, practice, reviews, progress and planner.
Dark or light mode
- Zooky follows your device unless you pick one.
- Open Settings, then App and data, and pick under Appearance.
Reminders and the weekly email
- Open Settings, then Notifications.
- Under Reminders, turn on a daily round reminder and a morning summary on this device.
- Under Weekly recap email, turn the weekly email on or off. Every email also has a one-click unsubscribe.
Studying
Change your units or semester
- Open Settings, then Studies.
- Under Your units, choose Change units or semester. Move to the next semester, or pick any year and semester, and swap units in or out (up to 4).
- Your home page, rounds and Ask Zooky follow your units straight away.
Change your degree, major, exam dates or vibe
- Open Settings, then Studies, and choose Redo your setup under Your units.
- Go through the steps again: your degree and major, where you're up to, exam dates, then your round cue, streak, vibe and Ask Zooky's tone.
- Choose Update my setup at the end. Your progress stays.
Find a unit or lesson on Campus
- Open Campus. Your units come first; every unit in the degree is one tap away, and every unit stays open.
- Open a unit to see its topics. Each topic has a lesson, worked examples and practice (You try it).
- Search finds units, topics, formulas and questions by name.
Star units, topics and questions
- Choose the star on a unit's card on Campus, or on a topic or question, to keep it close.
- Starred units show under Starred on Campus. Choose the star again to remove it.
Today's round and streaks
- Today's round takes 3 to 8 minutes across your units: learn a little, try it yourself, lock in what you know. Start it from Home.
- Your streak counts the days you study. In setup you pick every day, 5 days a week or 3 days a week, so rest days don't break it.
- Close to an exam, rounds switch to your weakest topics for that unit.
Review cards and spaced review
- Topics you've learned come back as review cards when they're due, so they stick.
- Say the answer in your head, flip, then rate yourself honestly. Cards work offline.
- Cards drafted from your own files (My Resources) join the same review.
Mock exams
- Open the Planner's Exams tab and choose Take a mock paper for a unit, or start one from the unit's page on Campus.
- A mock is timed and works like the real thing: AI help is off until you hand it in.
Photo check of your handwritten working
- On a practice question, take a photo of your working and Zooky checks it step by step.
- The answer itself always comes from Zooky's solvers, never from AI.
Study offline
- Offline lessons keeps lessons and review cards on your device for when there's no connection. Practice needs a connection.
- To install Zooky as an app, open Settings, then App and data.
Turn the AI tutor on or off
- Open Settings, then Studies, and find AI tutor.
- Off means practice help shows the written hints and a worked example with no AI, and Ask Zooky is hidden. Turn it back on in the same place.
- A problem you use the AI tutor on doesn't count toward first-try mastery.
Planner and exams
Add an exam, assignment or class
- Open Planner and use Add an event. Pick the type (Class, Exam, Assignment, Training, Shift, Plan or Study block), the day and the time.
- Classes, shifts and training can repeat weekly.
- Or tell Ask Zooky, like "My statics exam is 28 November at 9am". It drafts the change and nothing is added until you approve it.
- Exams and assignments also show on the Planner's Exams tab, with a next step for each.
Move, change or remove an event
- Open Planner and choose the event to edit its type, day, time or title, or to delete it.
- A weekly event can be changed for every week from the same place.
Import your timetable or export your planner
- Open Planner, then Import a calendar file, or export your planner.
- Import a calendar file (.ics) from your university timetable and pick what kind of events it holds.
- To see Zooky's events in your own calendar, choose Export calendar (.ics). It's a one-time copy of the next 90 days; later changes won't sync on their own.
Set your study hours
- Open Settings, then Studies, and set Study hours, so Zooky plans revision when you're free.
My Resources
Upload your slides and notes
- Open My work, then My Resources, and choose Upload, or drop a file anywhere on the page.
- Pick the unit it's for. Each file can be up to 15 MB. Add tags later from the file's Settings.
- Zooky reads the text out of PDFs and notes, so you can search inside them. Your files are private to you.
Quiz me, Explain this file and the text Zooky read
- Open a file from My Resources. Overview shows what you can do with it.
- Cards: review cards drafted from the file. Quiz me goes through them one at a time.
- Explain: the key ideas, or more simply, technically, or for the exam.
- Source text: the text Zooky found, page by page, to check it read the file right.
Storage space and deleting files
- Upload shows how much space you've used. Pro has much more space than Free (see Pricing).
- To free space, open a file, then Settings, and delete it.
Assignments
Get your draft marked (Mark My Assignment)
- Open My work, then Assignments. Name it, and choose Mark my work.
- Add your work, the assignment brief and the marking guide, and say what your assignment allows for AI.
- Confirm the marking guide Zooky read (or enter it yourself), then review. Zooky marks each criterion against the guide, quotes the parts of your work it's about and lists what to fix first.
- The mark is an estimate to help you revise, not your real grade.
Upload a new version and review it again
- Open the assignment, upload the new version of your work, then choose Review it again.
- Since your last review shows what you fixed, what's new and what's still open.
Get help starting an assignment
- Open My work, then Assignments, and choose Help me start. Then add the brief and the marking guide.
- Choose Plan my assignment. Zooky lists what the brief asks for (quoting it), the lessons you'll need and the steps to get it done, and you can add the steps to your planner.
- Zooky never writes any of the work.
Delete an assignment and its files
- Open the assignment and choose Delete this review and its files at the bottom.
- It leaves your account straight away. Zooky keeps a private copy for 90 days for support and safety, then erases it.
Ask Zooky
What Ask Zooky can do
- Explain a topic from your units in other words, with hints rather than answers.
- Plan your study and tell you what's coming up from your planner.
- Add exams, assignments and study sessions to your planner. You check and approve every change.
- Talk through an assignment brief or a finding from Mark My Assignment.
- Find your way around Zooky, from this help guide.
- It doesn't change your account (passwords, email, deleting), and it won't write your assignments.
Change Ask Zooky's tone, or start a new chat
- Open Ask Zooky and choose the gear. Pick a tone (Professional, Normal, Chill or Brainrot), turn tips on or off, or start a New chat.
- You can also pick the tone in setup.
Your saved chats, and deleting them
- Zooky keeps your chats so you can pick up where you left off. Choose the clock in Ask Zooky to see them.
- Rename or remove a chat there, or Remove all chats.
- Zooky's team can review chats to improve Zooky.
Send a photo to Ask Zooky
- Photos in Ask Zooky are part of Zooky Pro: snap a question or your working.
- On Free, type the question instead, or use the photo check on a practice question.
Hide Ask Zooky
- Turn the AI tutor off in Settings, then Studies. Ask Zooky is hidden until you turn it back on there.
Free and Pro
Free and Pro
- Every lesson, practice question and exam tool is free, for good, and so is typing questions to Ask Zooky.
- Pro is for your own work: Mark My Assignment and Help me start, feedback on your draft, photos in Ask Zooky, cards and summaries from your own files, audio lessons and more storage.
- Payments open soon. Until then, the Zooky team turns Pro on for students.
- See your plan in Settings, under Your plan: Free or Pro, until when, what you have left this month, your storage, and anything extra the team has given you. Pro shows a small Pro badge by your name, which counts down from 7 days before Pro ends.
What counts as one assignment
- Starting a review or a plan for an assignment uses one of Pro's assignments for the month.
- After that, the same assignment includes its plan and a set number of re-reviews, so you can fix things and check again.
- Uses reset at the start of each month. Settings → Your plan shows how many you have left, and so can Ask Zooky.
When Ask Zooky is paused for the month
- Each account has a monthly AI allowance. When it's used up, the chat pauses until next month.
- Lessons, hints, practice and the planner all keep working.
Privacy and feedback
Who sees your files and work
- Your files, assignments and chats are private to you. Nobody else sees them unless you share review cards as a deck.
- Assignment files are stored encrypted and checked for viruses before Zooky reads them. Names, emails and student numbers are taken out before any AI reads them.
- The Privacy page has the details, including where data is stored.
Report a mistake or give feedback
- Choose Give feedback in the menu (on a phone, in the menu at the top right), or open the page below. Tell the team what's broken, confusing or great; they read every message.
- A wrong answer in a lesson or question? Report it from that lesson or question so the team sees exactly where.
- Something Zooky's AI made missed the mark (a tutor reply, a photo check, feedback, an explanation, a plan or a review)? Tap the thumbs down under it and say what was wrong.
